For our accreditation process, we may also collect information about your organization, including but not limited to the organization’s program, staff, and education information. You may be required to provide certain information to create your account or to participate in the accreditation process. If you use a third-party service to log in, link to us, or communicate with us (such as a social network or third-party video chat), we may receive certain information about you from the third party based on your registration and privacy settings on those third-party services.

The Way in Which We Use and Disclose Personal Information

We will use or disclose your personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected. We will use or disclose your information for another purpose only if you have consented, if you would reasonably expect us to do so, or as required by law.

We may use your personal information for the purposes of our own direct marketing; however, we will ensure you have the ability to opt out of future communications.

We use Facebook Custom and Lookalike Audiences to deliver advertisements to Facebook users based on email addresses, phone numbers, and visits to our websites and app. We may use the information we collect from you to display advertisements to our target audience of users.

How We Disclose Your Personal Information

EdQ will not sell, rent, or otherwise disclose your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to third parties unless such disclosure is necessary for the purposes set forth in this Privacy Policy, required by law, or specified in a policy or notice associated with a specific EdQ product or service. Unless you give us permission to do so, we will not share your PII with third parties other than as specified in this Privacy Policy.

Disclosures to Third Parties Assisting In Our Operations

We may share your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) under confidentiality agreements and any legally required data processing agreements with other companies that work with, or on behalf of, EdQ to provide products and services. This includes companies providing email solutions, cloud hosting services, data analysis and website usage analysis, order fulfillment for bookstore purchases, event registration support, hosting online content (such as online courses, webinars, podcasts, or e-books), community chat functionality, continuing education assessment processing, and support and maintenance services for the Website, as well as legal, regulatory, audit, and other professional advisors. These companies may use your PII to assist us in our operations or for our legitimate business interests. However, these companies do not have any independent right to share this information.

Disclosures Under Special Circumstances

We may provide information about you, including Personally Identifiable Information (PII), to respond to subpoenas, court orders, legal processes, or governmental regulations or inquiries, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. We believe it is necessary to share information to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, or as otherwise required by law.

Other Parties with Your Consent or At Your Direction

In addition to the disclosures described in this Privacy Policy, we may share information about you with third parties when you consent to or request such sharing. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

Business Transfers

We may share your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) with other business entities in connection with the sale, assignment, merger, or other transfer of all or a portion of EdQ’s business to such a business entity. We will require any such successor business entity to honor the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Automatically Collected Information and Anonymous Information

Each time you visit our Website, EdQ collects some information to improve the overall quality of your online experience.

Aggregated Data

EdQ collects aggregate queries for internal reporting and counts, tracks, and aggregates visitors’ activity into EdQ’s analysis of general traffic flow on the Websites. To these ends, EdQ may merge information about you into aggregated group data. In some cases, EdQ may remove personal identifiers from PII and maintain it in aggregate form that may later be combined with other information to generate fully anonymous, aggregated statistical information. Such anonymous, group data may be shared on an aggregated basis with EdQ’s affiliates, business partners, service providers, and/or vendors; if it does so, EdQ will not disclose your individual identity.

Web Server Logs and IP Addresses

An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that automatically identifies the computer or device you have used to access the Internet. The IP address enables our server to send you the web pages that you want to visit, and it may disclose the server owned by your Internet Service Provider. EdQ may use IP addresses to conduct Website analyses and performance reviews and to administer the Website, although it will not combine traffic data with user accounts.

Web Beacons

Some of the Website's web pages may use web beacons in conjunction with cookies to compile aggregate statistics about Website usage. A web beacon is an electronic image (also referred to as an "action tag," "single-pixel," or "clear GIF") that is commonly used to track the traffic patterns of users from one web page to another to maximize web traffic flow and analyze the effectiveness of the Website. Some web beacons may be unusable if you elect to reject their associated cookies.

Analytics Data

EdQ uses analytics data and the DoubleClick cookie to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our Websites. Site visitors may opt out of the DoubleClick cookie by visiting the Google advertising opt-out page or they may opt out of Google Analytics by visiting the Google Analytics opt-out page. Google has additional information available about their Remarketing Privacy Guidelines, Policies, and Restrictions.

Response to "Do Not Track" Signals

Some web browsers may transmit "do-not-track" signals to the websites with which the user communicates. Web browsers incorporate and activate this functionality in different ways, and it is not always clear whether users intend for these signals to be transmitted. There currently is disagreement, including among participants in the leading Internet standards-setting organization, concerning what, if anything, websites should do when they receive such signals. EdQ currently does not take action in response to these signals, but if and when a standard is established and accepted, we may reassess how to respond to these signals.

Children's Privacy Protection

Under Age 16

EdQ does not knowingly collect or retain personally identifiable information about persons under 16 years of age. Any person who provides their personal information to EdQ via a Website represents that they are 16 years of age or older. The Websites do not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information online from children under the age of 16 without prior verifiable parental consent. If we learn that a child under the age of 16 (or such legally required higher age) has submitted personally identifiable information online without parental consent, we will take all reasonable measures to delete such information from our databases and not use such information for any purpose (except where necessary to protect the safety of the child or others as required or allowed by law). If you become aware of any personally identifiable information we have collected from children under 16, please contact us at educationquestvn@gmail.com.

Under Age 18

Minors under 18 years of age may request the deletion of the PII that they have provided to us through the Websites. If you wish to have this information deleted, please contact us by email at educationquestvn@gmail.com. Please note that, while we make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests, deletion of your personal information does not ensure complete and comprehensive removal of that data from all our systems and backup systems.

Security

EdQ understands that storing our data securely is essential. EdQ stores PII and other data using reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to secure data against foreseeable risks, such as unauthorized use, access, disclosure, destruction, or modification. All information that you transmit to EdQ through the Websites is transmitted using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. We protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our Websites that is only accessible by certain qualified employees of EdQ. Please note, however, that while EdQ has endeavored to create secure and reliable websites for users, the confidentiality of any communication or material transmitted to/from the Website or via email cannot be guaranteed.

Referrals/Links

The Websites may contain links to other websites. EdQ is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those websites. Users should be aware of this when they leave our Website and review the privacy statements of each third-party website. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the Website. EdQ maintains accounts on third-party websites, such as social media sites, as tools to better interact with the public. The security and privacy policies of third-party websites apply to your activity on those sites.

Privacy Settings/Opt Out/Changes/Access

If you would like to be removed from our mailing list, please scroll to the bottom of the email you received from EdQ and select the link to unsubscribe. If you would like your Personally Identifiable Information (PII) removed from our database, changed, or updated, you can contact us at educationquestvn@gmail.com. If requested, we will promptly verify and delete your account, and you will no longer receive emails from EdQ.

Please note that your removal from the mailing list or database will not remove records of past transactions or delete information stored in our data backups and archives where we are required to keep your data for legitimate business or legal requirements. Data on past transactions and data stored in backups and archives will be deleted in the normal course of our business.

You have the right to access or, if required by applicable laws, receive a copy of your PII held by us by making a written request and sending an email to educationquestvn@gmail.com.

Copyright

Cookies

To make this site work properly, we sometimes place small data files, called "cookies" on your device. Most big websites do this, too. By choosing to continue to use this site without changing your cookie settings, we will assume that you consent to receiving cookies on your device.

What are cookies?

A "cookie" is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size, and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another. Cookies can expire at the end of a browser session (from when a user opens the browser window to when they exit the browser) or they can be stored for longer.

How do we use cookies?

As set forth in our privacy policy, we may use cookies when you use our services or interact with our emails and online or mobile advertisements. For example, we may automatically collect certain non-personal information from you such as your mobile device identifier or MAC address, browser type, operating system, device model, software version, Internet Protocol (IP) address, mobile or ISP carrier information, and the domain name from which you accessed the services. We also may collect information about your use of the services, including the date and time you access the services, the areas or pages of the services that you visit, the amount of time you spend using the services, the number of times you return, and whether you open, forward, or click through emails and ads, and other usage data. We will not use cookies for purposes not set forth in this policy.

You control your cookies through your browser

You can delete the stored cookies from your computer by changing your browser settings.

We use different types of cookies on our website:

Session cookies – These cookies allow websites to link the actions of a user during a browser session. They may be used for a variety of purposes, such as remembering what a user has put in their shopping basket as they browse around a site. They could also be used for security when a user is accessing internet banking or to facilitate the use of webmail. These session cookies expire after a browser session, so they are not stored long term. For this reason, session cookies may sometimes be considered less privacy-intrusive than persistent cookies.

Persistent cookies – These cookies are stored on a user's device between browser sessions, which allows the preferences or actions of the user across a site (or in some cases across different websites) to be remembered. Persistent cookies may be used for a variety of purposes, including remembering users’ preferences and choices when using a site or to target advertising.

First and third party cookies – Whether a cookie is ‘first’ or ‘third’ party refers to the website or domain placing the cookie. First party cookies are set by the website visited by the user—the website displayed in the URL window. Third party cookies are set by a domain other than the one being visited by the user. If a user visits a website and a separate company sets a cookie through that website, this would be a third party cookie.

How can I control my cookies?

You can use your web browser to:

  • Delete all cookies
  • Block all cookies
  • Allow all cookies
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Clear all cookies when you close the browser
  • Open a 'private browsing' / 'incognito' session, which allows you to browse the internet without storing local data
  • Install add-ons and plug-ins to extend browser functionality
  • If you choose to block or delete cookies, some functionality of our site may be affected, including your login capabilities or credentials.
